Once upon a time, there was a pale little girl who, despite her mother telling her she would one day appreciate her bed sheet-colored skin, wanted a tan. This little girl is me. I spent most of my life searching for the perfect sunless tan. After spending thousands of dollars trying every commercial lotion and buying memberships at retail spray tanning shops, I realized if I wanted to find a better tanning solution, I was going to have to develop it myself. And that’s what I did.
My sister and I explored options. We wanted the tanning process to be easy, convenient, affordable, and most importantly, result in an amazing tan. We consulted the experts to develop the perfect solution, loading it with natural, healthy, nourishing ingredients. We created complementary products to ensure the resulting tan was even and natural, including a first-of-its-kind roll-on applicator.

The Options Aren’t So Bright
Not all of us were born with skin that has a warm, bronzed glow. Some of us were born with skin that’s more like the glow of a light bulb. TANNING BEDS
So, we stayed in the shade and some decided a tanning bed was the next best option. But, UV rays are UV rays, no matter where they come from. The Skin Cancer Foundation says:

TANNING LOTIONS AND SPRAYS
These sobering statistics may be why so many of us got out of beds and opted for tanning lotions and spray tans. While these products are infinitely safer than the sun or tanning beds, they aren’t known to deliver the same even, natural-looking tans.
Tanning lotions are a pain to apply, particularly by yourself. They require multiple applications to deepen the color and it’s nearly impossible to make it look natural. Knees, hands and feet? Forget about it. They either stay pasty white or they look dirty.
Professional spray tans aren’t much better. While they may deliver a more even tan, they’re expensive, time-consuming and require you to lose all modesty.

When we were developing our solution, we wanted a product that:

Then, we considered application. That’s where most of us go wrong with other tanning products. They’re just so darned hard to use. We put our heads together and imagined a roll-on tan. The results were amazing and by placing a long handle on the roller, we could reach our backs with ease. Bingo.
With all of my experience using other tanning products, I knew the only hope to keep knees and elbows from absorbing more solution was to first moisturize them with lotion. So, we developed an amazing pre-tanning lotion, our Barrier Cream, to moisturize those dry spots with skin-nourishing cream. We included a blending brush to feather in the solution to challenging areas, such as the feet, hands and face. We then created our Finishing Powder to use anywhere the Sunless Body Butter Solution settled, absorbing any excess solution to prevent over-darkening.
